Consider yourself invited to our D.I.G. SHOW opening reception and monthly "ART-LUCK" potluck dinner in conjunction with the downtown Nashville First Saturday Art Crawl.

EXHIBITING ARTISTS include: Gabriel Max Starner, Sarah Shearer, Emily Laird, Brady Haston, Elizabeth Streight, Jennifer Leach, Richard Feaster, Linda Sack, Robert Bruce Scott, Tiffany Dyer, Sara Estes, Meiska Shondalei Starner, Tasha French, Samera Zavaro, Beth Gilmore, Sarah Byerley, Emily Wright Zavaro, Nathan Steele, and Cynde Carlson.

Bring a dish to share starting at 6:00 PM. Enter through the double doors located off 5th Avenue (between Commerce and Church Streets).

At 7:00 PM, this year's D.I.G. SHOW winning artist will be announced and presented with a purchase prize check of $1,000 from the church. Works will be judged and a winner selected by a local jury comprised the following persons: Jim Hoobler (DPC member and curator at The Tennessee State Museum), Ann Brown (The Arts Company), and John Hilly (former Pastor of DPC).

A bit about our show: “D.I.G.” means Dialogue: an Interaction for Growth. This year’s theme is "Anti-depressant." The D.I.G. show began at DPC in 1998 as an extension of the church’s artists-in-residency program. These shows have explored different themes each year. Previous themes have included last year’s “Embodiment,” and also “Icons and Idols,” “Incarnation and Risk,” and “Human Sacrifice.” DPC feels that lent, the church season of 40 days (not including feast days) before Easter, is an appropriate season to invite artists to join the church in wrestling with challenges and complexities of faith.

Also, *DETAILS COMING SOON* the church will again host a film series in DPC’s downstairs chapel on Thursday nights during the weeks of Lent.

End of Show Date: Easter Sunday, April 4

I thought the roots of Presbyterianism lie in the European Reformation of the 16th century, I'm a theologists and most of my colleagues always disputing about it, with the example of John Calvin's Geneva being particularly influential. Most Reformed churches who trace their history back to Scotland are either Presbyterian or Congregationalist in government. 23jj
